Les séries éliminatoires de la Coupe Stanley sont toujours le théâtre d’histoires inspirantes et en 2022, notre coup de cœur va au petit Ben Stelter, 5 ans.

Atteint d’un cancer au cerveau, ce jeune garçon se bat contre la maladie avec un courage exemplaire. C’est aussi un amateur de hockey et le plus fervent partisan des Oilers d’Edmonton. Depuis quelque temps, il gravite dans l’entourage de l’organisation albertaine et tout le monde l’a adopté.

En mars dernier, Ben a notamment réalisé un rêve en patinant en compagnie de son idole Connor McDavid.

Depuis le début des rencontres printanières, le brave jeune homme attire presqu’autant les projecteurs que le #97. J’ai dit presque. Sa combativité, sa passion et son sourire sont à ce point une source d’inspiration qu’ils séduisent même les joueurs des clans « ennemis ».

En première ronde, la mascotte des Kings s’était rangée derrière lui.

Un bonjour de Laila

Jeudi, notre ami a reçu un autre témoignage spécial. Celui-là, de la part de la non moins courageuse Laila Anderson.

Porte-bonheur des Blues de St Louis, la petite Laila a écrit une lettre touchante à son nouveau correspondant, en plus de lui dédicacer sa carte de hockey Upper Deck, de la série Heroic Inspirations (Ben en a lui aussi une à son effigie).
